ABOUT THE POSITION AND THE COMPANY

The success and vision are based on a simple concept that has been refined over the years; To make it economically easier for people to have cars boats homes tools and leisure articles of high quality thereby creating a richer leisure time for these people. They choose their own path and have therefore decided to invest in their own operations and development of systems and technical solutions among other things. Biltema Nordic Services is a service company within Biltema with various departments that together deliver a complete solution for the department stores assortment and operations. The IT department in Helsingborg provides systems and digital solutions in collaboration with Biltemas other companies within the group for our Nordic markets.

You will be part of a large team of colleagues who together with the entire IT department develop manage and support both proprietary products and systems as well as well-known systems from market-leading suppliers. Together with your colleagues the mission is to develop integrate and automate Biltemas over 150 digital platforms and systems.

WORK TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install configure and upgrade database server software and related products.
  • Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure database security including user access management and data encryption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues working closely with development and IT teams.
  • Plan for capacity and scalability as organisational needs grow.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations.
  • Automate routine database tasks and maintenance procedures where possible.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database administration management and support.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies (e.g. SQL Server Oracle MySQL PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency in database scripting and automation (e.g. SQL PowerShell Bash).
  • Understanding of data security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. Azure SQL AWS RDS).
  • Knowledge of database replication clustering and high availability solutions.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines related to database development.
  • Certification in relevant database technologies (e.g. Microsoft Oracle AWS).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Start: By agreement

Working hours: Standard office hours with the possibility for hybrid work. The DBA role may require occasional out-of-hours work to perform maintenance upgrades or troubleshooting.

Location: Helsingborg
