Job Summary

As AML Consultant you will be responsible for the support in a key role focused on the Anti-Financial Crime workstream and Financial Sanctions Screening area. This position may also provide essential administrative support and contribute to broader operational duties across the business unit. The role is required to not only work closely with the AML and Financial Sanctions Screening team to ensure compliance accuracy and efficiency in payment verification but other Governance related control teams too.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

  • Conducting AML due diligence on various types of clients with different legal structures in all jurisdictions

  • Execute screening against Sanctions Politically Exposed Person and negative media records and escalate accordingly

  • Obtain and review documentation provided in support of AML checks

  • Performing and managing the results of the Financial Sanction Screening (FSS) checks in respect of the escalation route

  • Following CPSL Governance standards and procedures

  • Execute screening against the potential risk of fraud for AML FSS COP other Governance requirements.

  • Obtain and review documentation

  • Communicate professionally and constructively to address and resolve tasks and issues

  • Ensure that daily work is completed in accordance with defined procedures

  • Generic mailbox- administration query answers.

  • Work with the senior members of the team and support the business users to ensure solutions are developed that fit the business and regulatory requirements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve queries and issues or escalate where appropriate

  • Flexibility with switching between the tasks

Key tasks:

  • Completion of the AML DD checks and Financial Sanctions Screening process.

  • Data administration and input operation validation and documenting FSS/COP processes and business requirements

  • Maintenance activities in relation to key COP FSS and other Governance Activities know who to consult with on each area.

  • Monitor and reply to queries that are delivered to the team mailbox provide responses to queries send out reminders and signpost issues with colleagues and line manager as required.

  • Support Senior team members with solution designs that satisfy the business and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in team meetings

  • Liaise with colleagues Senior Stakeholders and Capita departments

  • Support the development of our technology platforms and products

  • Undertake data analysis when required

  • Ensure that all mandatory CBTs are kept up to date and attend any training sessions as and when required.

Skills you need to succeed:

  • Previous work experience in AML (min. 3 months) or completed studies in finance

  • Fluent English speaker

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
