This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail good IT skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service to play a key role in supporting the effective operation of Parking Notices within the Notice Processing Unit.

About the Role

As the primary contact with the Councils Finance Team you will manage financial processes to ensure the service area delivers excellent service in line with legislation.

Your role will involve managing purchase orders and invoices and reconciling payments in respect of penalty charge notices whilst maintaining accurate records across systems and preparing financial and statistical reports.

You will be required to provide management support by preparing and maintaining complex spreadsheets and reports and provide information to Managers in order to prepare budgets and final accounts.

The role will also require you to support and guide a small team of Parking Administrators deputising for the Supervisor when needed in managing the workload of team members ensuring the team works efficiently and effectively to meet statutory timescales.

About You

To apply for this post you must have:

AAT Intermediate or NVQ Level 3 in Accountancy.

AND/OR

NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration or equivalent qualification plus experience as detailed below:

  • Have experience of financial processes including debtors/creditors budgeting and management/general accounting.
  • Be adept at compiling using and deriving information from complex spreadsheets and from a wide variety of software packages including databases.
  • Have the ability to prioritise and control work and manage your own workload.
  • Have experience of working with the public in particular dealing with irate or distressed customers.
  • Have the ability to produce work to a consistently high standard.
  • Be able to work flexibly under your own initiative sometimes under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Have good written and oral communication with customers clients professional officers and contractors.
  • Be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate written and spoken English.

You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.
