The Fitness Specialist is responsible for conducting one-on-one and group training exercise sessions with members and non-members. Other duties include exercise testing and evaluation and the development of appropriate exercise programs. Performs various duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Womans Hospital.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required preferably in Kinesiology or a health-related discipline.
- Three years of experience in personal training and/or exercise instruction preferred.
- National certification in personal training or exercise physiology required within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities:
- Seeks out opportunities to teach Group Classes and teaches Group Classes as requested by management.
- Performs appropriate movement screens and selects fitness tests that are both safe and appropriate for the individual.
- Utilizes assessment protocols and program skills as documented in member files and reviewed on a quarterly basis by fitness services supervisor.
- Reviews of random fitness training programs to ensure the latest ACSM guidelines member goals and assessment results are met which includes the information in the exercise programs prior to the training session with the member.
- Assists with equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Rotates through the member retention committee meetings and contributes constructive ideas verbally in writing and follow through.
- Completes a minimum of three CEU courses related to primary responsibilities and reports information learned at either monthly fitness staff meetings or personal trainer retreats.
- Any other duties as assigned by Womans Hospital.

Monday & Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday & Thursday: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Rotating weekends

$17.00 - $24.00; based on work experience
