Job Summary

Amazon Leo is Amazons low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

The Leo team is looking for a Senior Global Category Sourcing leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting developing and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers and others as needed to execute on Leo objectives. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record sourcing Electronic components and semiconductors developing and executing strategy negotiating master agreements and statements of work and managing supplier performance. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.

Key job responsibilities
Use industry and relevant data analysis create and execute strategic sourcing plans for a technology business unit department or project to help internal customers meet their goals
Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders engineering leaders legal program management and supply chain to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets MOUs NDAs SOWs development agreements component purchase agreements and others
Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify opportunities to reduce cost minimize risk protect continuity of supply and industry developments that benefit Amazons customers
Influence suppliers processes technology decisions and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
Prioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable on-time delivery
Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals Evaluate and monitor financial health of critical suppliers
Effectively lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing agenda creation note capture and follow-up activity coordination

- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering or a related field
- Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel Pivot Tables SQL Tableau or equivalent
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
- Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
- Experienced in PCBA component and EMS supplier contract negotiations

- Experience in data centers infrastructure service providers or related technology companies
- Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
- Experience leading cross functional teams driving supply chain initiatives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
