This position is in Cargills agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain partnering with farmers and customers to source make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Grain Associate will help sell the companys portfolio of both technical and non-technical products services and solutions directly to current and new customers. This will focus on agricultural commodities such as wheat barley and this role you will develop an understanding of Cargills business operations products and services and how they fit into the challenges and dynamics of the Western Canadian grain industry.
Key Accountabilities
- Shadow and support senior grain origination representatives and grain advisory representatives in their day-to-day duties to learn and develop the skillset required to do either of these roles.
- Inform customers of our new products services and prices.
- Help support development and delivery of sales bids proposals and presentations and help conduct product demonstrations.
- Build monitor and revise lead generation plans to develop substantive sales opportunities.
- Help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products services and solutions.
- Build develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma/certificate or bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Possess a valid full Canadian Drivers Licence in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Able and willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with agricultural commodity markets and the grain industry
- Previous experiencein agriculture

- This position will support the Peace River AB territory and local travel is required.
