Job Description:
L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems is seeking a Technical Lead Software Engineer. Responsibilities include leading a software development team analyzing requirements and the translation of requirements into working and maintainable solutions planning the development developing innovative architectures tracking teams status measuring teams work performed and utilizing agile techniques to maximize the reuse of commercial software capabilities
The selected candidate will apply technical proficiency across various stages of our SDLC gather requirements and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and scope tasks. The selected candidate will be working as a lead team member on a Scrum team and will be instrumental in setting our direction and strategy for product and infrastructure development.
Essential Functions
- Experience leading an Agile Software Team / Project strong technical communication skills
- Project planning task definition and assignment; performance monitoring
- Object-oriented design and implementation experience with exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo
- Developing Software utilizing Modern Cloud Application Development tools and standards
- Support the engineering team members as a subject matter expert in application software application development through guidance and direction to one or more software engineers
- Investigate root cause of complex issues and implement solutions working independently or with a multi-discipline team
- Apply computer science engineering and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware
- Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
- Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements analysis design implementation hardware-software integration and formal test
- Develop software test plans and procedures and other relevant technical documentation
- Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data conduct experimental tests prototype and evaluate results
- Participate in peer reviews identify track and repair defects
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship eligible for a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field
- 7 years of experience debugging application and cloud-based applications
- Usage of Platform as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service technologies such as VMWare OpenShift or similar
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with Agile Scrum Practices
- Experience developing device drivers and software for integrated communication systems
- Experience with commercial telephony software packages such as Asterisk
- Experience with implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) security control across application software
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role is $125000 - $185000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits including relocation stipend 401(k) EAP and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire schedule type and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
