Role Responsibilities

The Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Manager Compassionate Intervention. This role plays a central part in the development of provincial strategies and legislationparticularly the Compassionate Intervention Actand leads a team of Policy Analysts dedicated to developing and implementing the compassionate intervention legislation and program.

Reporting to the Director Compassionate Intervention the Manager works closely with cross-ministry partners external stakeholders and executive leadership to advance system-level change and legislative priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
Advisory Services: Provide expert advice on policy legislation and strategy to internal and external stakeholders supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Project Planning & Initiation: Scope strategic projects develop project plans assemble teams manage resources and establish communication channels.
Project Management: Oversee project implementation stakeholder engagement cross-ministry coordination reporting and delivery of high-impact policy initiatives.
Committee Management: Lead or support multi-stakeholder committees ensuring alignment with ministry goals and strategy execution.
Grant & Contract Management: Guide and oversee compassionate intervention grants and contracts ensuring alignment with ministry objectives and fiscal accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships across government and the sector.
Team Leadership: Manage a team of Policy Analysts fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and strategic focus.
Branch Support: Contribute to branch-wide planning briefings and senior leadership support; serve as acting Director when required.

Qualifications

University graduation in Public Health Health Care Public Policy or related field and 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.


Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
