Role Overview
The Staff Accountant supports the daily operations of the accounting department and ensures accuracy in financial records invoices payroll and reporting.
Responsibilities
Manage invoice routing and approval processes
Verify invoices match purchase orders and delivery tickets
Complete weekly accounts payable check runs
Work with vendors to resolve discrepancies
Assist with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close
Support project managers and supervisors with financial accuracy
Verify proper sales tax application and documentation
Maintain vendor files including W-9s ACH forms and credit applications
Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Handle prevailing wage and certified payroll reports as needed
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all accounting functions
Assist the Controller and other team members with various projects
Job requirements
Requirements:
1 years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive ownership-driven approach to problem-solving
