The Instructor assists the Education Specialist or Education Coordinator in promoting all aspects of Mayo Clinic Ambulance Education with an emphasis on providing customer focused professional education opportunities to Mayo Clinic Ambulance employees first responders Mayo Clinic Health System employees and other health care providers. Daily assignments are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. The instructor works with considerable independence in the conduct of ordinary department functions and in meeting such problems as may occur while on duty or in the classroom. The instructor may be utilized to assist in scheduling class sessions registering students and other activities.
High School diploma or equivalent (GED). A technical and educational background in instruction and training as well as a post-high school degree and progress towards a degree are desirable. Instructors possessing both formal and informal teaching experience are desired. Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely in front of a group. Ability to utilize computers audio visual equipment and other forms of technology. Demonstrated success in working effectively with various healthcare providers and meeting customers needs. Ability to be flexible think strategically and creatively solve problems. Strong organizational skills. Willingness to progressively obtain additional instructor certifications. Ability to coordinate equipment and instructional resources for anticipated course needs.
Current Nationally Registered Paramedic. Current Minnesota/Wisconsin Paramedic Licensure/Certification. Current ITLS PALS ACLS BCLS certification. PALS ACLS BCLS instructor certifications are required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of accepting the position. Current AHA BLS instructor certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days. Willingness to obtain D.O.T Instructor certification. Willingness to obtain additional instructor certificates as needed.
