Job Title:MRO Supervisor
Department:Maintenance / Engineering Reports To:Maintenance Manager
Position Summary:
The MRO Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement inventory management and distribution of maintenance repair and operations supplies to ensure optimal equipment uptime and plant efficiency. This role plays a critical part in supporting preventive maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of MRO parts and supplies using CMMS or ERP systems.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Optimize inventory to balance cost control with equipment availability.
- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Source and order parts tools and consumables in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and food safety standards.
- Supervise MRO storeroom staff including training scheduling and performance management.
- Promote a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all MRO materials meet regulatory and company standards for food safety and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of parts usage warranties and vendor performance.
- Work closely with Maintenance Engineering and Production teams to forecast parts needs and support maintenance planning.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:Associates or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in MRO or maintenance storeroom management preferably in a food or CPG manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. SAP Maximo eMaint) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of GMP HACCP and food safety regulations is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking standing and use of hands in a warehouse or plant environment.
- Occasional exposure to cold heat and noise typical of a food manufacturing facility.
