The State Hygienic Laboratory (Iowas Environmental and Public Health Laboratory) at the University of Iowa under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services has an exciting full-time opportunity for newborn screening clinical laboratory analyst in the Ankeny IA facility. The primary function of the position is to perform biochemical and genetic testing of blood specimens collected from newborns for detection of inherited disorders.
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8am - 5pm with rotating weekends and Holidays.

About Pay and Compensation:
Pay Grade: 3A
Qualifications:
Education or Equivalency Required
Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biochemistry Biology Genetics or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
Basic and relevant laboratory experience that demonstrates a clear understanding of the clinical laboratory environment.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
Six months to one-year related Newborn Screening (NBS) laboratory experience.
Desirable Qualifications
Working level proficiency for interpersonal written and technical communication.
Six months to one-year related public health laboratory experience.
