We are seeking a reliable and hardworking CDL A Laborer to join our railroad derailment response team. This position involves operating CDL-required vehicles and performing manual labor in emergency response situations primarily for train derailments. Candidates must be safety-focused flexible and capable of working in physically demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CDL Class A vehicles including roll-offs dump trucks and tractor-trailers.
- Respond to railroad derailments and environmental emergencies as part of a specialized cleanup crew.
- Assist in the removal of railcars debris and hazardous/non-hazardous materials.
- Work with heavy equipment operators to rig and secure railcars or freight for recovery.
- Use hand tools power tools and industrial equipment to perform site cleanup.
- Follow all safety protocols environmental regulations and company procedures.
- Complete accurate documentation and daily work reports.
- Participate in safety briefings equipment inspections and pre-trip vehicle checks.
- Travel regionally as needed with extended stays on location during large derailments.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles in clean and working condition.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A License (with clean driving record).
- Tanker endorsement preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum 1 year of CDL driving experience required.
- Prior experience in railroad environmental construction or industrial labor preferred.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions (hot/cold weather rough terrain confined spaces).
- Capable of lifting 50lbs and performing strenuous physical tasks.
- Must be willing to work on-call including nights weekends and holidays.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test background check and DOT physical.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred (or willingness to complete).
