About the role
As a Support Worker - Catering Assistant you will support the Chef / Chef Manager and peers in delivering a high-quality catering service within the home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the catering service is adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements
- Completing all appropriate food safety record forms as per legislation requirements.
- Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the Food Safety Program at all times
- Ensuring uniforms appropriate protective clothing and footwear is worn whilst in the workplace.
- Follow strategies in the Food Safety Plan to prevent cross contamination from occurring.
- Prepare daily meals including beverages for residents that meet the special dietary requirements as instructed by the Chef Manager or Chef/Cook.
What you bring:
- Follow Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
- Minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role in residential care health care or hospitality sectors
- Current National police check no disclosable outcomes
- Current valid Australian work rights
- Knowledge and experience in safe food handling
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation
- Cook experience to provide cover when Chef on leave
