About the role

As a Support Worker - Catering Assistant you will support the Chef / Chef Manager and peers in delivering a high-quality catering service within the home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the catering service is adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Completing all appropriate food safety record forms as per legislation requirements.
  • Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the Food Safety Program at all times
  • Ensuring uniforms appropriate protective clothing and footwear is worn whilst in the workplace.
  • Follow strategies in the Food Safety Plan to prevent cross contamination from occurring.
  • Prepare daily meals including beverages for residents that meet the special dietary requirements as instructed by the Chef Manager or Chef/Cook.

What you bring:

  • Follow Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role in residential care health care or hospitality sectors
  • Current National police check no disclosable outcomes
  • Current valid Australian work rights
  • Knowledge and experience in safe food handling
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation
  • Cook experience to provide cover when Chef on leave
