This post is for a Full time Maternity Cover Post starting September 2025 Fixed term for one year. Part time applications will also be considered please make it clear in your cover letter if you are looking for part time or full time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Sensory Needs Service as a teacher within oneof theHearing the first instance you will be based at a thrivinginnovative Facility at Willingdon Primary School in Eastbourne working alongside the LeadTeacher of the Deaf. A qualified Teacher of the Deaf with primary experience is preferred however this positionwould suit anexperiencedteacher with a strong understanding of SEND at Primary Level or an outstanding Primary teacher with a strong understanding of literacyand languagedevelopment. Knowledge of phonics development is an essential part of the this role.

You will have asoundknowledge of the Primary Curriculum and understand how to make it creative and dynamic to engage pupils who have speech and language difficulties associated with will be responsible for planning and delivering1:1 and small groupinterventions with a range of children across KS1and KS2 focusing primarily on developing their literacy and language skills. No knowledge of sign language is needed as the majority of our pupils are predominantly oral but if you have signing qualifications this would be a bonus.
