SUMMARY: Under close supervision provides administrative technical and para-professional support for a City department division function and/or special project. Assists with performing work within clearly defined technical and procedural limits.
This position is a paid internship in the Planning Division.This internship provides an excellent opportunity for college students looking for on-the-job experience in a variety of areas within Planning. The division is flexible and willing to work around your schedule. The internship is open to students enrolled in an accredited college or university program to obtain an associate degree bachelors degree or higher. The internship will start as soon as it is filled.

Education Training and Experience Guidelines:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be currently enrolled as a student in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university or have graduated within twelve (12) months of appointment.

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Class C California Drivers License and a satisfactory driving record.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Work is usually performed in a standard office environment; may vary according to job assignment. May be required to travel to various sites locations and/or events. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours. Employees are required to assume the duties of a disaster worker in the event of a locally declared emergency.
