Job Summary
Were looking for a social-native strategist/creator hybrid to join us as an Associate Social Manager and propel the Modern Animal brand to the next level across social channels.
In this high-agency high-impact role youll be in the drivers seat of one of the fastest growing brands in the pet space. Youll drive meaningful engagement with our community online and offline and weave our brand into culture through social-first campaigns highly-engaging content and partnerships with creators and brands we admire.
The ideal candidate is a natural communicator culturally fluent and resourceful AF. Youre able to balance innate creativity with keen analysis of performance to adapt to conditions on the field and pivot when needed. Most importantly youre eager to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to help Modern Animal win.
This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Brand and will work three days/week from our clinics and our headquarters in Culver City CA.
In this role you will:
- Optimize Modern Animals social channels (TikTok Instagram Linkedin) ensuring that they are set-up for maximal reach.
- Apply your intuitive sense of trend and whats happening in culture to a 7 day/week social calendar that keeps Modern Animal top of mind for our existing members and prompts consideration by pet parents and veterinary talent.
- Independently and in collaboration with our video producer and aspiring creators in our clinics produce content that amplifies our message and drives love for the brand across channels
- In partnership with our Sr. Paid Media Manager incorporate insights and content from organic social to inform experiments on paid media and accelerate the rate of experimentation.
- Pitch develop and execute social-first campaigns that place Modern Animal within the cultural zeitgeist at multiple points throughout the year.
- Perform outbound social engagement to bolster Modern Animals reputation amongst pet parents and veterinary professionals and proactively grow our reach and following in all of our markets.
- Analyze and report on performance to inform iterative improvements to Modern Animals social content and brand strategy.

- Youre scrappy and innately collaborative with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally to get sh*t done.
- You have 35 years of experience managing social for a consumer brand
- You have an instinctual understanding of what drives performance on TikTok and Instagram and have scaled a brands following from 01 (and maybe even!)
- Youre beyond capable at independently producing content and editing within digitally native tools like CapCut Canva or Figma.
- Youre a great copywriter and can fluidly adapt your style tone and voice to various content types and audiences while staying on-brand and on-message.
- Youre comfortable with data and using native and third-party social media analytics tools to extract and interpret performance results against business goals.
- Youre based in Los Angeles with the ability to work out of our HQ and/or in our clinics most days of the week.
