This position is a civil service position for information regarding King County Civil Service Rules you can access these rules at: Records Specialist is a dynamic opportunity to join the King County Sheriffs Office (KCSO) Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Section. This position provides records services to the Latent Print Units law enforcement and criminal justice partners. This position performs specialized and complex clerical and technical work including the coordination of latent fingerprint cases from initiation through final disposition conducting in-depth research and investigation records maintenance and distribution fulfilling non-public disclosure requests in accordance with state and federal laws and providing quality assurance and control for the unit. Precision and attention to detail are essential in this mission-critical environment.

This position performs specialized law enforcement and criminal justice records entry maintenance and support. Duties include but are not limited to:

This full-time position is overtime eligible with prior supervisor approval. Typical work hours are 40 hours per week Monday through Friday; shifts may vary by assignment. Rarely additional hours may be necessary to respond to workload needs which may include evenings and weekends.
