Description

As a Disability Support Worker at Bamara you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Western NSW. This casual position within the Community Services department requires compassion empathy and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those with disabilities. We currently have casual positions for Wellington and surrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities according to their individualised NDIS plans.
  • Assisting clients with daily activities while promoting independence and community participation.
  • Supporting clients in developing life skills including personal care household tasks and social interactions.
  • Implementing strategies to address challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes for clients.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents or concerns.
  • Engaging with clients in a respectful and person-centred manner to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Delivering high-quality support services that align with the goals outlined in each clients NDIS plan.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including healthcare professionals families and other service providers to ensure holistic care for clients.
  • Adhering to all relevant policies procedures and legislative requirements related to disability support services. Skills And Experiences

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in providing support and care for individuals with disabilities (highly regarded).
  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes (highlyregarded)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities their families and support networks
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centred approaches to disability support
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Capability to assist with daily living activities and personal care tasks
  • Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the rights of people with disabilities
  • Availabilityand willingness to work varying shifts including weekends eveningsovernights mornings and normal business hours.
  • Certification in First Aid
  • Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)
  • NDIS workers clearance
  • Working with Childrens clearance
  • Police check
