Job Summary

The Operations Specialist will oversee the day-to-day functions of the Campus Card Operation. Perform the production issuance and replacement of the Rensselaer Campus Card (for purposes of identification and access control) to all qualifying Rensselaer Community members. Maintain member accounts in Institute wide enterprise systems. Issue Rensselaer Advantage Dollar (RAD) declining balance accounts for students and Community members including daily reporting and year-end maintenance of accounts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience

Job Duties

  • Process and issue Rensselaer Campus Cards in accordance with Institute guidelines to students trustees faculty staff retirees and other entities.
  • Serve as a contact for the Campus Card Office assessing various situations to ascertain appropriate resolutions. Provide status updates as needed to those requesting Rensselaer Campus Cards for visitors scholars contractors and others. Respond to inquiries via telephone email and in person ensuring accurate information is communicated and routing calls or directing individuals as necessary. Continuously develop and enhance processes to align with business needs of the department.
  • Serve as an extension of the main Auxiliary office by providing customer service support for all Auxiliary functions. Respond to inquiries via phone email and in-person interactions. Assist at the front customer service desk with various tasks including the distribution of ID cards and other materials. Participate with Campus activities and events such as Orientation sessions. Communicate any concerns or issues that need attention to the management team.
  • Provide updates on all campus Dining Plan Programs each semester share program information and respond to inquiries. Manage customer accounts by activating new accounts deactivating accounts handling lockouts and ensuring accurate billing.
  • Provide feedback for the campus card website and current technology as needed. Support all Rensselaer Campus Card processes including but not limited to processing ID cards answering calls and emails inventory processing RAD etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure timely and accurate sales reporting tracking and distribution following established Institute practices and guidelines.
  • Oversee and manage the inventory of office supplies and printing requirements including an annual forecast.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $18.50 - $20.00
