Position Summary
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing developing and implementing engaging learning solutions that support organizational goals and enhance employee skills. This role collaborates with subject matter experts stakeholders and other team members to create effective training programs using adult learning principles instructional design methodologies and modern learning technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and business leaders to assess training needs and define learning objectives.
- Design and develop instructional materials such as e-learning modules facilitator guides participant workbooks job aids and assessments.
- Apply instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE SAM) and adult learning theory to create effective learning experiences.
- Leverage learning technologies including Learning Management Systems (LMS) authoring tools (e.g. Articulate 360 Captivate Camtasia) and virtual collaboration platforms.
- Create engaging multimedia content (graphics audio video simulations) to support learning.
- Ensure accessibility inclusivity and alignment with organizational standards.
- Conduct pilot tests gather learner feedback and make improvements based on evaluation data.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of training programs using Kirkpatricks evaluation model or similar frameworks.
- Stay current on instructional design trends technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Instructional Design Education Learning & Development or related field (Masters preferred).
- 2-5 years of experience in instructional design curriculum development or learning program management.
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline Rise Captivate etc.).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM/xAPI standards.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
- Excellent project management communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing for blended learning microlearning and mobile learning.
- Graphic design video production or multimedia editing experience.
- Knowledge of agile development approaches for learning solutions.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG/ADA compliance).
