Job Summary

Examines and treats patients independently and functions in collaboration under the direct and indirect supervision of a physician. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment diagnosis treatment and recovery of patients in the practice setting. Complies patient medical data including health history and results of physical examinations.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for taking detailed medical histories and performing complete physical exams.
  • Provides diagnoses and recommends treatment plan.
  • Provides treatment counseling and education to patients regarding medical conditions illnesses and injuries.
  • Orders performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribes appropriate medications and physical therapy.
  • Completes all required documentation in chart necessary for patient care plan and billing.
  • Discuss and formulate proper and personalized health care plans for patients in consultation with the supervising physician.

Qualifications
  • Required Masters Degree or equivalent Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a masters post-masters or doctorate degree from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
  • 2 years of relevant experience Current Clinical Experience Required
  • 1 year of relevant experience Experience as a Nurse Practitioner Preferred
  • Experience in Oncology and/or Infusion services Preferred
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days preferred
