OKOBOJI COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICTJob DescriptionPosition: Special Education ParaprofessionalReports To: Special Education Teacher and School AdministrationJob Goal: The Special Education Paraprofessional supports the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations for students with disabilities. The goal of this position is to provide instructional behavioral and social-emotional support to students enabling them to access the general education curriculum and participate fully in the school school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or two years of college coursework state and federal requirements for paraprofessional working with children preferably in an educational or childcare to work effectively as part of a team under the direction of certified patience flexibility and strong communication to maintain confidentiality regarding students and ResponsibilitiesThe Special Education Paraprofessional shall:1. Assist in the implementation of instructional plans and accommodations as developed by the Special Education Teacher.2. Provide academic behavioral and/or physical support to students as outlined in their IEPs.3. Reinforce learning concepts under the direction of certified staff.4. Assist with data collection and progress monitoring as requested by the Special Education Teacher.5. Support students with transitions self-care and social skills as needed.6. Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure inclusion and access to the curriculum.7. Monitor student behavior and implement behavior support strategies consistently.8. Maintain a safe supportive and positive learning environment.9. Supervise students in a variety of settings which may include classrooms hallways cafeteria playground and on school transportation as assigned.10. Perform general education support duties such as recess supervision lunchroom duty and other tasks as assigned by administration.11. Communicate effectively with teachers administrators and support staff regarding student needs.12. Uphold district policies and procedures and maintain professional boundaries at all of this job will be evaluated by the Principal/Administration and the Special Education Teacher using the districts evaluation process for support of EmploymentThis is a non-exempt and work calendar determined by the and benefits in accordance with district policies and support staff salary procedures.
