Job Summary

Summary

AMG Vanadium LLC (AMG V) is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our this role you will be responsible for compiling analyzing and reporting the Companys financial data as well as supervising accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties (additional duties as assigned)

Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements policies and procedures including AMGs Code of Business Conduct.
Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive respectful work environment that is aligned with AMGs values.
Perform complex purchase price variance and revenue recognition calculations for month-end close
Develop and execute accounting requirements for raw material contracts
Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
Support monthly financial statement generation and reporting requirements.
Assist in preparation of month-end journal entries account reconciliations and other reporting.
Ensure integrity of financial data through normal conditions and exception analysis.
Assist with financial audits including gathering data preparing schedules and coordinating with auditors as needed.
Develop strong understanding of the business and manufacturing processes to correlate production and financial data with financial performance.
Develop produce and track key performance metrics and other financial data that inform business decisions.
Continuously evaluate related processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization; make recommendations to management to improve product and process profitability
Support the Director of Finance with various projects and assignments as needed

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

Bachelors degree in accounting; CPA or CMA a plus
Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; metals and/or heavy manufacturing experience a strong plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
Proficiency with Oracle or similar accounting/ERP system
Demonstrated knowledge or previous experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills
Good follow through skills as well as heightened attention to detail
Ability to adapt well to change
Ability to work flexible schedule at critical financial reporting times
