Job Description:

Physical Therapist Assistant- Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

As a Physical Therapist Assistant you will contribute to our success in the following ways:

  • Promote Elara Carings philosophy mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care

  • Perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patients physician

  • Follow the Plan of Care as established and supervised by the Physical Therapist reporting any changes in patient status promptly

  • Adhere to the State Practice Act Guidelines

  • Verify the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provide care according to physicians orders assessment data and established standards

  • Incorporate patient care goals established in the Plan of Care into therapy care

  • Instruct patients and/or families in safe use of prosthetic orthotic and assistive devices (canes walkers wheelchairs etc.)

  • Educate patients and/or caregivers on therapy home programs

  • Work in a physically demanding high-stress environment requiring handling lifting and transferring of patients

  • Potentially work irregular hours including call hours as applicable

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association

  • Current unrestricted PTA license valid in the state of employment

  • Six months or more experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred

  • Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area (up to 50%)

  • Must have a dependable vehicle valid drivers license and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws

  • Ability to sit stand bend lift and move intermittently with capacity to lift 50100 lbs

Reporting Structure:
You will report to the Branch Director Clinical Manager Clinical Supervisor or designee.
