Office of Extended Learning (OEL) Extended Day Coordinator

Department: Office of Extended Learning
Reports to: Director of the Office of Extended Learning
Unit: Support Non-Exempt
Wage: Grade 209 Specific salary based on experience. This position is grant funded there is no guarantee of future funding or position beyond the current fiscal year.
Compensation range listed is based on an average 1-15 years of experience as determine by Human Resources

JOB SUMMARY
The Extended Learning Coordinator will oversee and support the implementation coordination and compliance of Extended Day and LOOP academic programming. This position will focus on addressing scholar needs through quality programming fostering collaboration among staff administration and the Office of Extended Learning and ensuring that extended learning initiatives align with district goals 31a/Title guidelines and scholar outcomes.

  • Program Compliance
    • Conduct site observations with a focus on identifying and addressing scholar needs; utilize that information to support changes in program to benefit scholars.
    • Support program staff in implementing improvements that directly benefit scholars academic social-emotional and behavioral outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the OEL Director to align grant proposals and program goals/scholar outcomes to the needs of participating scholars.
    • Support observations and improvement of program quality effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Program Curriculum Coordination & Support
    • Coordinate academic programs to integrate district instructional models assessments and curriculum.
    • Review and provide feedback on lesson plans to ensure quality and relevance to scholars academic goals.
    • Provide staff training and support to better meet scholars academic social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Staff Support & Professional Development
    • Collaborate with OEL Director and building principals to anticipate staffing needs participate in interviews when needed and assist OEL Director in training new extended day teaching staff.
    • Conduct site visits to provide ongoing support and coaching for program staff emphasizing effective practices for addressing scholar needs.
  • Logistical & Operational Support
    • Coordinate logistics for programming including transportation snacks materials and ensuring alignment with the needs of scholars and staff.
    • Interview and identify vendors to provide services or materials prioritizing scholar-focused outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build relationships with school administrators teachers scholars families and community partners.
    • Analyze and report on scholar attendance social-emotional learning (SEL) progress and program engagement metrics.
    • Promote community awareness of extended learning programs through outreach and collaboration.
    • Represent GRPS in local and state committees as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned as they relate to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in education or a related field is required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience and successes in working in multicultural settings.
  • Demonstrated word processing spreadsheet and desktop publishing skills in a Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies classroom management and evaluation practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in using data to drive decision making.
  • Experience in professional development for adult learners.
  • Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at the same time and responding to immediate timelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is performed indoors although there will be required outdoor activities. The employee is directly responsible for the safety well-being and work output of students.
