The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a motivated and commercially minded individual to join our Defence team as a Commercial Support Officer. This role provides support across a range of procurement and contract management activities within major Defence programs. Working under the guidance of senior commercial specialists you will contribute to the delivery of commercially sound outcomes aligned with Defence capability objectives.

In this role youll support senior commercial specialists in the planning and execution of procurement and contract management activities across major Defence projects. Youll help coordinate commercial processes in line with Defence policies legal and regulatory frameworks and KBRs internal systems. Your work will span contract management risk compliance assurance and governance playing a vital role in delivering outcomes within the Defence capability lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of procurement documentation including ASDEFCON contract suites
  • Support contract planning performance monitoring and risk management activities
  • Engage with internal stakeholders Defence clients and industry partners to support project delivery
  • Contribute to governance compliance and assurance processes across commercial functions
  • Provide commercial advice aligned with Defence priorities and investment programs
  • Maintain accurate records and support reporting requirements across the project lifecycle

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Qualifications in legal commercial management or a related discipline
  • Experience with Defence procurement frameworks particularly ASDEFCON
  • Strong commercial management skills including planning and coordination
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Sound understanding of legal regulatory and industry standards
  • Proficiency in commercial management tools and systems

Due to the nature of Defence work applicants must be Australian citizens and hold an active NV1 security clearance.
