Respiratory Therapist- Permanent Role

Location: Gainesville FL 32601

Shift: 12 hr Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)

Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team in Gainesville this permanent full-time night shift role you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to patients in a variety of critical care settings. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to assess treat and care for patients with respiratory disorders ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures in accordance with physician orders.
Evaluate patient respiratory status and monitor progress.
Operate and maintain respiratory equipment such as ventilators CPAP/BiPAP machines and oxygen delivery systems.
Provide care across critical care units including ICU CVICU NICU and PICU.
Respond to emergency codes and assist with resuscitation efforts (adult and pediatric).
Document all therapy and patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate on patient care plans.
Educate patients and families on respiratory care and home equipment use if applicable.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in ICU CVICU NICU PICU or other critical care settings.
- Candidates with home care and/or long-term care experience may also be considered.
Valid Florida State Respiratory License
NBRC Certification Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
BLS Basic Life Support (Required)
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
