Job Summary

Overview

Buildings & General Services at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity with room for growth as a BGS HVAC Specialist. This position will be responsible for buildings facilities and grounds maintenance for the Southeast District.


This full-time position will work Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm. A valid drivers license and successful completion of multiple background checks are required.

BGS provides the facilities services required for all state agencies and departments to accomplish their missions. Please watch thisbrief video to learn more about working for BGS.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed at state buildings including correctional and psychiatric care facilities Contact with inmates and patients may be anticipated. Incumbents may encounter harassment or hostile behavior and must be able to respond in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to climb ladders lift weights up to 75 pounds and work in cramped wet or poorly ventilated areas. Climbing crawling reaching and standing for extended periods of time are often required. This position may require emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of an R-410 Safety Certificate.
