About the Role:

CRIM/LEGS Teaching Assistant will assist the program chairs of the Criminal Justice and the Legal and Paralegal Studies programs. The Teaching Assistant will work 20 25 hours per week the majority of which will be served on campus. The primary focus of the CRIM/LEGS Teaching Assistant will be grading with oversight by the program chairs. However the Teaching Assistant will also have direct interaction with students by hosting club meetings for each programs curricular clubs establishing office hours and/or tutoring times and hosting regular study skills sessions. Finally the Teaching Assistant will assist with some of the administrative responsibilities of the program chairs such as dual credit paperwork.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist program chairs with some administrative responsibilities including dual credit paperwork
  • Establish/Maintain curricular club activities
  • Grading
  • Host weekly office hours for tutoring
  • Host weekly study skills sessions

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

CRIM/LEGS Teaching Assistant must be a graduate of Ivy Techs Criminal Justice or Ivy Techs Legal and Paralegal Studies program and must have a minimum of a bachelors degree. Pursuit of an advanced degree is preferred. Those pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree will be given highest priority.
