The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs medical devices and medical technologies. We are seeking a high calibre candidate to join ourDigital Innovation Team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Architect and design scalable secure and highly available cloud infrastructure across multiple public cloud platforms such as AWS Azure and Alibaba Cloud;
• Lead the design implementation and optimization of advanced CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to enable robust efficient and secure software delivery;
• Govern cloud infrastructure performance and security and implement advanced monitoring solutions;
• Ensure solutions are well-documented and knowledge is transferred effectively across technology teams;
• Design and implement automated recovery disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans to maximize the availability and performance of mission-critical systems;
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to conduct proof-of-concepts initiatives and provide strategic recommendations that drive innovation and continuous improvement across the organization; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related discipline;
• Minimum of 2 years experience in cloud engineering with a demonstrable track record in designing and leading complex cloud initiatives;
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and a strong understanding of cloud security best practices and frameworks;
• In-depth knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies particularly Kubernetes including the design deployment security and management of production-grade clusters;
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; and
• Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese (proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage).

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
