Boeing Global Services (BGS) Structures Stress Team is seeking a broad range of experience levels including an Experienced and Lead Level Structural Analysis Engineer with adept knowledge of stress analysis methods engineering principles certification and collaboration skills. This position will report to the Long Beach CA Design Center.

This requisition is hiring for primary and secondary structures stress for airplane production & airplane post-production modifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performing detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety) using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production responses to customer inquiries service bulletin development failure investigation regulatory agency coordination and show compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Providing guidance on structural design and configuration development.
  • Create trade studies to optimize the structure and meet program requirements.
  • Work with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis using finite element methods to develop internal loads and stresses to verify structural integrity with minimal instruction.
  • Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the resolution of technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external).
  • The ability to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers.
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
  • May be asked to support other programs as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of science from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree.
  • 3 years of experience with Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis.
  • 3 years of experience with classical hand analysis and FEA software experience.
  • Experience in design release processes policies and procedures handling tooling issues and supplier driven changes.
  • Experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis.
  • Wwilling & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college university technical school licensing/certification programs etc.)
  • 2 years leading and mentoring structural analyst team members while engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • 2 years engaged in 787 primary structural analysis.

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $102000 - $138000

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $124100 - $167900
