Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Berea Plant Supply Chain Leader is responsible for leading planning and managing all aspects of the Plants metal supply including tactical and long term strategic planning forecasting and action plans metal flow inventory controls and BOM (Bill of Material) management in support of delivering Plant operation and Business Unit commitments. The position will own metal supply and recipe management; executing these plans in support of and against world class operating practices with emphasis on achieving the Vision 3x30.

  • This position is responsible for all aspects of Bereas demand and capacity planning recipe management and execution metal inputs metal flow and inventory.
  • The position and incumbent must be able to successfully operate and drive results within a Matrix Organization. The position has a solid line reporting relationship with Regional Supply Chain and a very strong dotted line reporting relationship with the Plant Manager. The incumbent must be able to balance champion and challenge the capabilities of the plant and ongoing needs of the business.
  • The incumbent must be able to collaborate with personnel across various skillsets backgrounds and business silos to effectively drive results. As the business continues to transform and evolve the incumbent must be able to adapt positively lead change and deliver on commitments.
  • The position will require constant innovation and passion for moving beyond the status quo. As Berea evolves and Novelis continues to move towards a focus on maximizing
  • recycle content the team will need to process different inputs and process those inputs differently.
  • The position is responsible for reporting and analysis on all aspects of metal inputs flow and inventory positions. The incumbent must be actively engaged in the day to day operations of the plant movement of metal through the process and become a trusted and valued resource across the plant with expertise and solutions for metal mix flow scrap processing staging improved production quality and cost.
  • The position will be expected to create or help create and develop tools processes and reports in SAP Excel and Business Intelligence in support of the business unit goals and objectives.
  • The incumbent will be actively engaged in the development and mentoring of Plant personnel. The position will require a passion for the development and continuous improvement of self and others.

Requirements

-Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or qualifying experience within a manufacturing environment.

-At least 4-6 years of related experience.

-Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with internal and external customers

-Self-motivated and can work without direct supervision

-Knowledge of aluminum scrap manufacturing and recycle process

-Superior understanding of Supply Chain and Metal Inputs

-Analytical and pc skills including advanced ability in Excel and SAP

-Excellent organizational and communication skills

-Ability to perform work accurately and independently

Location Profile

Novelis Berea facility is located in Berea Kentucky near Lexington. With 150 employees the recycling facility processes approximately 20 percent of all aluminum cans recycled in the United States each year more than 750 million pounds.
