Staff Accountant Description

Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team just north of Hartford Connecticut. This is an on-site position. Day-to-day you will handle accounts receivable accounts payable bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate is a proactive detail-oriented professional who takes full ownership of A/P processes and understands the importance of timely accurate invoice handling. You should bring strong knowledge of GAAP A/P A/R and reconciliations along with a sense of urgency and accountability in managing day-to-day transactions. This is a high-impact role where your attention to detail and ownership mindset will directly contribute to the financial strength and efficiency of a global organization.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

Manage daily cash flow and update general ledger entries
Reconcile bank accounts and assist with month-end close
Prepare financial reports and support budgeting and analysis
Own the end-to-end accounts payable process
Ensure all invoices are reviewed approved and paid accurately and on time
Ensure payments are processed within established deadlines
Monitor A/P aging reports
Follow up proactively to resolve A/P issues or delays
Manage accounts receivable including posting of payments
Provide payroll processing support in coordination with HR
Process invoices and manage expense reports
Prepare sales tax filings

Staff Accountant Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance required
3 years of accounting experience required
A/P experience required
Must be willing to work onsite
