Pay: The anticipated salary range for this position is $20.60-$25.40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including relevant work experience the skills required for the role internal equity market competitiveness and budget considerations. Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week
Shift times: Primarily Monday Friday 9am 5pm. Regular evenings and weekends required 1-2 evenings per week and minimum 1 weekend day per month.
Location: Hybrid work locations include remote work work in community spaces and work from Planned Parenthood Duluth health center (1001 E Central Entrance # 200 Duluth MN 55811).
Job type: Non-Exempt
Travel: Regular weekly travel to community partner sites primarily within St. Louis County.

Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Teen Council Peer Education the Community Health Educator II develops and implements multi and single-session sexuality education programs in a designated community delivers sexuality education programs and outreach activities for that community administers pre/post test during education sessions works in a health mentor role at an area high school and performs related work as directed. Community Health Educators create and foster an environment of diversity and inclusion for patients and employees and are advocates in implementing our mission of Advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all. They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one-year experience in youth development health education public health or related area
- Proficient in language and culture of the target audiences
- Ability to work with underserved populations
- One year of experience facilitating youth programming within last five years
- Access to independent transportation valid drivers license and current vehicle insurance with willingness to drive to different clinic and/or program sites as needed.
- Ability to work 1-2 evenings per week and weekends as needed
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver innovative multi-session and single-session sexuality education programs in the designated community at locations that are convenient to the target population such as schools community organizations correctional facilities and treatment centers
- Provides 1:1 sessions to offer individualized health education support and referrals for supportive services to people seeking resources
- Plan organize coordinate and provide staffing for displays exhibits and promotional efforts at community events community celebrations and health fairs.
- Develop and deliver medium-term sexuality education programs targeted to audiences at highest risk for unplanned pregnancy and STIs and those who can most directly influence them; develop curricula and support materials for these programs as needed.
- Plan and prioritize annual work plans and budgets for community education with the Manager of Teen Council Peer Education.
- Evaluate promote and disseminate accurate and current information and curricula relating to sexuality; keep current on related periodicals journals books curricula and films.
- Compile record and evaluate outreach and education statistics and prepare reports as needed.
- Participate in appropriate professional meetings and work groups to build coalitions; collaborate with other community groups on education programming; and build and maintain professional relationships.
- Train and oversee volunteers and interns in the department when needed.
