Job Summary

This position is funded in part through federal funds.

Recruitment Range: $53164 - $73101

The primary purpose of this position is to research write and disseminate child welfare policy information regarding child protective services. This position also drafts written responses to media requests and develops forms. This position will work as team member for implementation of any initiative or project that requires a policy change in any matters related to the assigned subject matter.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Management Preferences:

  • Documented child welfare experience and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of child welfare programs concepts practice policies laws and rules related to foster care adoptions and foster home licensing.
  • Proven experience in ability to research analyze and interpret Federal and State laws and formulate them into policies related to child welfare;
  • Documented experience in technical writing to complete formal written documents and develop forms for a range of audiences that are accurate detailed and grammatically correct;
  • Proven experience in implementing child welfare-related policies or procedures and monitoring those implemented policies and procedures for compliance to get the intended results;
  • Demonstrate excellent communications skills both written and verbal to a wide range of professional stakeholders and public
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word Visio and Excel.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Masters degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; or Bachelor s degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
