The NCDAC / Support Services / Food and Nutrition Management section is recruiting for two ( & )energized and collaborative Medical Dietitians to be a part of the Team. This position requires thorough knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy the correlation to chronic diseases and assessing nutritional status.
The Medical Dietitian position is responsible for assessing nutritional status of offenders in prisons throughout the State of NC in the Dept. of Adult Correction and make recommendations to providers regarding optimal medical nutrition therapy and compliance. This position is required to provide training for in-service classes for food service and medical staff on nutrition and being able to evaluate the program outcomes. The Medical Dietitian serves as the liaison between Food Management and the Medical Departments to ensure that therapeutic diet orders are written in accordance with policy. This position also requires effective communicate both written and orally and also must be proficient in using computers and programs to include Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook.

Masters degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration in good standing administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); or Bachelors degree in foods and nutrition dietetics or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration in good standing administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting.
