Who You Are: The Assistant Teacher serves as a vital component of the learning lab for Early Care and Education students focusing on enhancing the quality of early education through a structured curriculum and lesson planning for children. Working collaboratively with the Lead Teacher the Assistant Teacher helps create a high-quality safe calm nurturing and playful environment that centers on the development of childrens physical social emotional and cognitive skills. The teaching staff values the families they serve by fostering a friendly atmosphere that embraces cultural diversity and strengthens community relationships. At Tri County Tech Assistant Teachers along with Lead Teachers and substitutes benefit from a supportive workplace that appreciates their contributions and encourages professional growth.
What Youll Possess
As a qualified candidate:
- Youll possess your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Certificate of Mastery preferred or be willing to obtain.
- Youll be on the Oklahoma Registry through the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development or get registered within 90 days of employment.
- Youll possess your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Certificate of Mastery preferred or be willing to obtain.
- Youll possess your CPR/First Aid certification.
- Youll possess a minimum of one year of related work experience.
- Youll have a background in early childhood.
- Youll have the physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- You are detail-oriented and organized.
- Youll strive to exceed expectations and have excellent communication skills.
- Youll take the initiative seek out projects and openly accept other duties as assigned.
- You continually look for ways to improve your skill set and are always open to receiving feedback.
What Youll Do
ELL Assistant Teachers are individual contributors and collaborative team members working in a task-oriented environment while planning and providing high-quality educational experiences for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. Semi-transactional an Assistant Teacher focuses on establishing a safe calm nurturing and playful environment that develops young childrens appropriate physical social emotional and cognitive skills. Teachers are highly focused on building relationships with the Early Care and Education students ELL children and parents and excellent communication skills are essential. As lab teachers for high school students ELL teachers must model exemplary leadership skills in their daily work. Non-Exempt
Essential Functions:
- Provide quality lab experiences aligned with the Early Care and Education students curriculum goals.
- Assist with planning developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that meet national accreditation standards DHS Licensing Requirements and Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines.
- Assist with creative hands-on activities and projects based on your observations of childrens interests and skills.
- Collaborate with the Lead teaching team to develop a creative curriculum that is designed to instill in children a love of learning.
- Translate lesson plans into learning experiences that effectively utilize the available time for instruction.
- Establish and maintain standards of child behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Assist with the evaluation of childrens academic and social growth keep appropriate records and prepare reports relating to childrens progress. Share appropriate milestones with parents daily.
- Assist with communication with parents if applicable through conferences and other means to discuss childrens progress and interpret the school curriculum.
- Other Job-Related Duties as Assigned by the Supervisor: The omission of duties does not exclude it from the position if similar related or a logical assignment to the other words youll be helping out on spontaneous projects and opportunities not listed above.
