We are currently seeking skilled Marine Pipefitters for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.
Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.
Overview:
Install modify and repair shipboard piping systems for U.S. Navy vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Fit install and repair piping for steam water gas and oil systems.
- Perform hydrostatic and operational pressure testing.
- Interpret piping diagrams and technical drawings.
- Work in confined spaces and shipboard environments.
OR
- Set up temporary water air and steam piping.
- Connect and test temporary service lines.
- Maintain and repair systems as needed.
- Work in shipyard and confined spaces.
Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret clearance .
- 4 years of pipefitting experience with at least 2 years on Navy ships.
- Completion of a formal trade training program (trade school military training apprenticeship or equivalent) .
- Strong knowledge of shipboard piping standards OR knowledge of temporary piping systems.
- Ability to work 1st 2nd and 3rd shift.
