JOB SUMMARY
The Sterile Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) ensuring that surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly decontaminated assembled sterilized and distributed in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leadership and management with a focus on coverage and performance fostering a culture of accountability teamwork and continuous improvement. Operations and workflow with a focus on daily operations of the entire sterile process from decontamination to distribution coordination with surgical services and support departments. Responsible for compliance and quality assurance. Budget and resource management to include departmental metrics equipment maintenance and upgrades. Special attention to on-going colleague and training and development.JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
-High School Diploma or GED- required
Certification & Licensures:
-Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required within one year of hire date- required
Experience:
-Minimum of three (3) years in sterile processing or surgical services with at least two (2) years in a leadership-type role (lead/coordinator etc)- required
