SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Consulting Psychologist provides expert psychological evaluation testing and clinical consultation to support behavioral health programming across Heartland Family Service sites in Nebraska and Iowa. This role focuses on diagnostic clarification treatment planning and clinical collaboration with multidisciplinary teams serving clients with complex mental health substance use and co-occurring needs. The Consulting Psychologist contributes to the development of trauma-informed evidence-based practices and may also provide training and consultation to clinical staff. Services are delivered in accordance with agency policies licensure standards and ethical guidelines set forth by the American Psychological Association.

Compensation: $200 per hour

Work Schedule: 6 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Psychologist in the state(s) of Nebraska and/or Iowa or eligible for licensure within 3 months of hire.
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses preferably applicable to the community mental health setting.
  • Experience conducting psychological assessments and testing in community-based settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in psychological testing and report writing (e.g. WAIS-IV/V WISC-V MMPI-2-RF BASC-3 ADOS-2 ADI-R and/or other relevant diagnostic assessments.).
  • Enrolled or willing to enroll as Nebraska Medicaid Provider
  • Clinical supervisory experience is desirable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Psychological consultation assessment and testing within Heartland Family Services outpatient behavioral health programs (Mental Health and Substance Use).
    • Performs Psychological Assessments and Testing
    • Consults with therapists and program staff regarding client care
    • Helps develop and review treatment protocols as needed
    • Coordination of Care: Consults with therapists in assessment medication management and treatment of outpatient clients including appropriate referrals to community physicians for health assessment as needed.
  • Administers and interprets psychological testing for cognitive personality and behavioral functioning as appropriate to the referral question and needs.
  • Interpret and integrate psychological test results into clear concise and clinically meaningful written reports.
  • Provide diagnostic feedback to clients families and referring clinicians as appropriate.
  • Provides consultation to therapist program staff and leadership regarding psychological functioning diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations.
  • Supports development and review of clinical protocols related to psychological services trauma-informed care and evidenced-based practices.
  • Collaborates in care coordination with internal and external providers to ensure comprehensive and integrated treatment planning.
  • Maintains record associated with clinical services delivery within established timelines
  • Interacts with clients in a therapeutic and responsible manner interactions with participants must be individualized positive age appropriate reciprocal constructive non-authoritarian and non-confrontive.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical conduct in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the American Psychological Association.
  • Interacts appropriately with all visitors family members and other service providers.
  • Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele volunteers and visitors of the Agency.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff volunteers and other Agency staff.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency policies procedures policies.
  • Maintains continuing medical education as required for licensure.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
  • Create maintain and share as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • Strive to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible to contribute to the agencys ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site or designated workspace.
