Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Machine Operator will set up operate and adjust machinery used in the can-making process. The operator will perform quality checks to ensure that can dimensions meet product specifications.
Job Duties:
Read blueprints and can drawings to determine job specifications and tooling.
Set up and operate manufacturing equipment (ie. Extrusion Press Liner Machine Printer Necker etc.).
Perform routine cleaning preventative maintenance and changeovers on manufacturing equipment.
Observe machine operations to detect machine faults and make necessary adjustments.
Monitor environmental factors such as humidity and temperature that may impact equipment performance.
Remain organized maintain proper inventory levels and stack finished items as needed.
Perform routine quality checks and record findings to ensure cans meet job specifications.
Communicate defects and production outputs to fellow operators.
Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Measuring skills using calipers micrometers gauges etc.
Quality control skills to detect variations and defects in dimensions color size etc.
Basic computer data entry and blueprint reading skills.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a team player and possess a can do attitude.
Ability stand for long periods of time on concrete floor.
Push pull lift up to 50 pounds
Must have High-school diploma or GED
Must be at least 18 years of age
Work Environment:
This role is in a manufacturing environment and the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts that produce noise.
