Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator will set up operate and adjust machinery used in the can-making process. The operator will perform quality checks to ensure that can dimensions meet product specifications.

Job Duties:

  • Read blueprints and can drawings to determine job specifications and tooling.

  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment (ie. Extrusion Press Liner Machine Printer Necker etc.).

  • Perform routine cleaning preventative maintenance and changeovers on manufacturing equipment.

  • Observe machine operations to detect machine faults and make necessary adjustments.

  • Monitor environmental factors such as humidity and temperature that may impact equipment performance.

  • Remain organized maintain proper inventory levels and stack finished items as needed.

  • Perform routine quality checks and record findings to ensure cans meet job specifications.

  • Communicate defects and production outputs to fellow operators.

  • Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.

  • Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.

  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Measuring skills using calipers micrometers gauges etc.

  • Quality control skills to detect variations and defects in dimensions color size etc.

  • Basic computer data entry and blueprint reading skills.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a team player and possess a can do attitude.

  • Ability stand for long periods of time on concrete floor.

  • Push pull lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must have High-school diploma or GED

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Work Environment:

This role is in a manufacturing environment and the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts that produce noise.
