Job Title: Principal Software Engineer

Location: Preferably Richardson TX or Remote

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer to provide leadership in the design development and implementation of cutting-edge technical solutions. As a principal software engineer you will act as a technical expert mentor and coordinator ensuring projects meet technical requirements and are performed on schedule. This role requires a technical leader who thrives in a collaborative hybrid environment and can effectively bridge technical knowledge with leadership expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical projects through mentoring junior engineers providing technical guidance coaching and support
• Design develop and implement scalable reliable and secure solutions for complex technical challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management QA and pier teams to align technical objectives with business priorities
• Manage project timelines resources and deliverables ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
• Foster a culture of innovation accountability and continuous improvement within the engineering team
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed ensuring minimal downtime or disruption

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a security clearance in the future if needed
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field
• Proven experience (10 years) in software engineering system architecture or related technical roles
• Experience leading or managing engineering projects with a track record of successful delivery
• Strong knowledge of development methodologies including Agile Scrum
• Experience with Linux systems (using administering and developing software)
• Experience with modern software development tools such as Jenkins Artifactory Jira Bitbucket Ansible Terraform RPM etc.
• Experience with C/C Java Rust and Python
• Willingness to sit in Zoom meetings and pretend to listen while you do real work

Desired Experience:

• Experience with Link 16 JREAP VMF and related messaging formats
• Experience with Cross Domain Solution
• Broad exposure to 90s movies so you can understand your managers references
