Job Summary

Overview:

The Project Manager will lead small to mid-sized programs from initiation through completion ensuring projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget. This role requires strong leadership problem-solving skills and proven experience managing cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will establish project objectives manage risks and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Independently or lead a project team to identify scope plan and execute medium-sized projects.
Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
Understands the business needs and has a thorough knowledge of the customer when developing a project scope. Incorporates business foresight of emerging technological trends.
Leads development of Project Charter and documents the initial requirements that satisfy the stakeholders needs and expectations.
Establishes engineering project objectives and technical criteria for evaluating project results and activities of the project team.
Monitors and controls project work to meet the performance objectives defined in the project plan. Focuses on cost and milestone achievement to optimize resource utilization.
Identifies areas of risk and mitigates risks through early risk assessments and implementation of fallback / mitigation strategies.
Identify develop and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include developing project schedules budgets and forecasts and selecting materials equipment project staff and external contractors.
Uses established PM tools and techniques to stay within authorized budget limits and achieve the overall project and organizational objectives. Understand Project Management tools and methodologies.
Direct the work of project team members set goals and objectives monitor progress on tasks. May have direct reports.
Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
Set priorities allocate tasks and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
Perform financial analysis to evaluate savings potential track performance and inform decision making
Prepares reports publishes and makes presentations to communicate findings.
Develop qualitative insights from reports to inform business decisions

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

Bachelors degree in Engineering Business or related field (Required).
PMP or other Project Management certification (Preferred).

Experience:

5 7 years of project management experience with a strong record of leading small to mid-sized programs.
Proven success in project completion meeting cost and timeline goals.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
Previous experience with budgeting forecasting and cost control.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to figure out what needs to happen.
Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
Effective risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
Ability to prepare and deliver clear reports and presentations.
Strong ownership mentality with accountability for project deliverables.
