Overview:
The Project Manager will lead small to mid-sized programs from initiation through completion ensuring projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget. This role requires strong leadership problem-solving skills and proven experience managing cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will establish project objectives manage risks and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Independently or lead a project team to identify scope plan and execute medium-sized projects.
- Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
- Understands the business needs and has a thorough knowledge of the customer when developing a project scope. Incorporates business foresight of emerging technological trends.
- Leads development of Project Charter and documents the initial requirements that satisfy the stakeholders needs and expectations.
- Establishes engineering project objectives and technical criteria for evaluating project results and activities of the project team.
- Monitors and controls project work to meet the performance objectives defined in the project plan. Focuses on cost and milestone achievement to optimize resource utilization.
- Identifies areas of risk and mitigates risks through early risk assessments and implementation of fallback / mitigation strategies.
- Identify develop and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include developing project schedules budgets and forecasts and selecting materials equipment project staff and external contractors.
- Uses established PM tools and techniques to stay within authorized budget limits and achieve the overall project and organizational objectives. Understand Project Management tools and methodologies.
- Direct the work of project team members set goals and objectives monitor progress on tasks. May have direct reports.
- Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
- Set priorities allocate tasks and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
- Perform financial analysis to evaluate savings potential track performance and inform decision making
- Prepares reports publishes and makes presentations to communicate findings.
- Develop qualitative insights from reports to inform business decisions
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business or related field (Required).
- PMP or other Project Management certification (Preferred).
Experience:
- 5 7 years of project management experience with a strong record of leading small to mid-sized programs.
- Proven success in project completion meeting cost and timeline goals.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
- Previous experience with budgeting forecasting and cost control.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to figure out what needs to happen.
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
- Effective risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
