Job Summary
An exciting opportunity exists for a driven Electrical / Mechatronic Engineer to contribute to advanced automation and control system projects. We are looking for a hands-on detail-oriented and skilled in PLC programming and electrical design with the ability to support manufacturing and heavy machinery applications. If you are motivated technically strong and enjoy problem-solving in dynamic environments this role is for you
Design detailed electrical circuits in compliance with industry standards
Develop PLC automation programs tailored to specific machine and system requirements
Conduct electrical testing and commissioning of equipment both in-house and on-site
Prepare update and maintain project documentation to reflect as built conditions
Provide technical support during equipment assembly installation and operation
Assist technicians and customers with troubleshooting and fault resolution
Undertake local and international travel as needed for project execution
Skills & Experience:
35 years of proven experience in PLC automation design and commissioning
Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal
Exposure to alternative platforms such as CODESYS Allen Bradley Delta ISP Soft or B&R is advantageous
12 years of practical experience in electrical circuit design (E-plan preferred)
Strong knowledge of electrical standards and their practical application
High computer literacy including MS Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint
Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally when required
Qualification:
BEng or BTech in Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
