Operating room is collaborative team of surgeons anesthesia technologists and registered nurses. One to one patient ratio. Numerous specialties including robotics cardiovascular orthopedics plastics OB-GYNE neuro urology and trauma. Huge perk is getting to know the surgeons here and being able to request them to care for family members etc.
How youll contribute
ADirector (RN) Surgical Serviceswho excels in this role:
Works closely with all emergency services staff
Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and visitors
Performs aseptic surgical techniques while functioning as a surgical assistant for trauma alerts/procedures
Responsible for the proper collection of most specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of their knowledge and experience (Phlebotomy POC testing)
Performs point of care testing and follows appropriate quality control procedures
Assists with the admission transfer and discharge of patients as appropriate including the transporting of patients throughout the facility

What were looking for
Applicantsshould possess aBachelors degree in Nursing or a health related field and stateRegistered Nurse Licensure. Additional requirements include:
Masters degree in Nursing/Leadership or Business Administration preferred
5 years management experience in surgical service
5 years direct patient care (surgery) preferred
CNOR or obtain in one year after accepting position preferred
