This is a full-time position located at theState Museum in New Orleans LA.

The Louisiana State Museum (LSM) is a complex of facilities including national landmarks housing thousands of artifacts and works of art reflecting Louisianas legacy of historic events and cultural diversity. This position will be responsible for fundraising for all LSMs properties in New Orleans (including the Cabildo Presbytere 1850 House and Madame Johns Legacy).

The Louisiana State Museums collections and educational programs stimulate awareness and appreciation of our states rich and diverse history and culture.




Minimum Qualifications

This job will require a bachelors degree plus 3 years of professional level experience in contracts management campaign fundraising or museum administration.

Fundraising on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor Louisiana State Museum and the Louisiana State Museum Board.

Location of Work:
Position is located in New Orleans LA. This position will be required to travel between the New Orleans Museum locations and may be required to travel in around and out-of the state of Louisiana.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

The incumbent of this position will be responsible for fundraising strategic planning education programs endeavors personnel and W.R. Irby Trust fund activities. A main focus of fundraising centers on political relationships across federal state and local levels including the need to attend functions of a political nature to encourage continued support of Louisiana museums statewide with public officials. The incumbent will also be responsible for the contract administration and lease management for LSM. Incumbent will also be responsible for the marketing and management of the commercial and residential lease program at the Lower Pontalba Building including oversight and coordination of all activities associated with maintenance preservation tenant selection the negotiation and enforcement of lease terms setting and collecting rents and fees and the development of policies and procedures to ensure the LSM Board of Directors fulfills its obligations as Irby Trustees. The incumbent will be responsible for the support and preservation of the Lower Pontalba Building through fundraising with oversight from the Museum Foundation and the LSM Board. Such duties are performed independently with limited direction from the LSM Board of Directors the Assistant Secretary and the Lieutenant Governor.

Consults with the LG Chief of Staff Assistant Secretary and the LSM Board on all W.R. Irby Trust matters/actions. Organizes monthly meetings for the Irby/Finance Committee. Prepares a Report to the Board following each Irby/Finance Committee meeting to present at LSM Board of Directors meetings. Initiates actions as approved by the Board of Directors concerning the Lower Pontalba Building.

Work Schedule:This is a full-time position. This position may be required to work overtime weekends/evening and/or holidays. This position may be required to travel.
Salary:$60000-$100000
