The Business Development Manager is responsible for the management of the program operations of the Traveling Exhibits and Sales division by advancing division strategies developing external and internal relationships market research and analysis project development and management and helping to develop and track budgets including revenues and addition they are responsible for the promotion sales and touring of exhibits across North America. The Business Development Manager participates in the selection and development of new exhibitions providing tour and marketing expertise and serving as the client advocate.
Qualified candidates will have but not limited to:
- Developed communication skills with an emphasis on writing interpretation and presentation
- Ability to communicate complex and technical information in plain language
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets with an emphasis on estimating labor time and costs
- Strong demonstrated research and writing proficiency for public and professional audiences
- Knowledge of the museum field and informal science education industry including best practices emerging trends and partnership opportunities
- 4 years of cumulative work experience-with increasing responsibility-as follows:
- Demonstrated product marketing experience with examples of effective/successful campaigns and strategies that amplify product exposure and foster new client relationships;
- Experience with client stewardship and managing product sales cycle from lead to close;
- Demonstrated experience or ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and talents in professional work environments;
- Experience managing budgets and utilizing appropriate accounting or tracking systems;
- Examples of effective utilization of tracking systems or tools;
- Examples of effective time management and organization.
The Business Development Manager has an annual pay of $82106.44 and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
- 2 weeks of vacation per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 200 hours;
- 2 weeks of sick time per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 520 hours;
