What You Will Do:
The Acquisitions Systems Engineer will support the Department of Homeland Security Client in navigating all aspects of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC). This position will play a critical role in supporting the broader team in executing long-term programmatic planning for enhancing the security effectiveness and operational efficiency of TSAs mission-based capabilities through enhancement of security system detection automation integration connection and improved security procedures.
This role involves providing strategic program support such as risk management technical research strategic communications preparing budgetary justifications establishing and managing R&D contracts and general program management.
Responsibilities of this role are as follows to include but not limited to:
Analyze needs and requirements information to develop specific objectives for security capabilities.
Interact with system developers independent test and evaluation personnel field users contracting personnel and program management leadership.
Review and provide advice on contract statements of work.
Support contract technical reviews and other technical management activities.
Advise on comprehensive plans to ensure fulfillment of cost schedule and performance objectives.
Draft justifications for program budgets and funding requests.
Develop informational and decisional executive-level briefings.
Support risk assessments that inform research and development planning and determine actions the clients organization must take to mitigate transfer avoid or accept risk.
Prepare develop track and maintain documents in support of the requirements and acquisition lifecycle and associated milestone reviews.
Apply knowledge of acquisition processes along with analytical methods and techniques to gather analyze and evaluate information required by task order(s).
Develop findings and conclusions and propose solutions to problems relating to improvement in the compliance efficiency effectiveness and risk management for programs under development.
What You Will Need:
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD PUBLIC TRUST; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
Bachelors Degree
SIX (6) or more years of Systems Engineering experience (preferably in government acquisition processes)
What Would Be Nice To Have:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD securityclearance
Certified Systems Engineering Professional
Experience with TSA and/or other components within DHS
Experience with technology research and development projects
Familiarity with the Department of Homeland Security Interim Requirements Process that has replaced the Joint Requirements Integration Management System (JRIMS) process.
Experience in supporting the planning execution and reporting for developmental and/or operational test & evaluation efforts.
