The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions jail based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana
The Community Forensics Services Department is seeking a passionate officer who will provide direct services to clients in Regions 1 9 and 10 including home visits regular communication with the court attorneys probation officer and other entities providing services and facilitating competency restoration services in jail and in the community.
Minimum Qualifications
A masters degree in a social science field social work behavioral health field public health education or health administration plus four years of experience providing behavioral health treatment; OR
A Juris Doctorate plus three years of experience providing behavioral health treatment; OR
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus three years of experience providing behavioral health treatment.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role you will:
- Direct organize evaluate coordinate and supervise Forensic Conditional Release Program for target population probated under .P. 657.1 (Act 800) for LDH in assigned region(s).
- Plan organize coordinate and direct the development of programs and services for individuals with mental illness who are under the supervision or in the custody of the Criminal Justice system which includes but is not limited to jail-based competency restoration cases civil committees and Conditional Release cases.
- Organize and maintain records prepares correspondence and reports coordinates all data from private providers public providers courts and various other sources pertaining to assigned program responsibility including but not limited to Conditional Release cases.
- Provide technical assistance training and consultation regarding proper procedures and legal requirements to agency staff contract providers (physicians psychologists nurses and social workers) Sheriffs State Probation Judges and Coroners and other personnel of the Criminal Justice System regarding delivery of services to individuals with mental illness who are under the supervision of or in the custody of a Criminal Justice System.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality plans for of service delivery and progress of program goals and objectives and formulates p corrective action. Recommends revision of program standards and agency policy as necessary.
- Identify development needs and resources to develop or coordinate training in the areas where there is an identified need for this population.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: The position may be filled as a Probational (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified. And Agency-Wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointed if selected.
